Lunch alone at my favorite spot is quite relaxing.

Before getting a glimpse of what i had for Lunch.. peep the bill first. This is a lunch to truly remember... I love 9th Ave Hells Kitchen.

In this picture, We have three things. One is the frozen margarita that was only $5 as listed on the receipt. It was so delicious, strong, and cold! A perfect drink for the summer time, and a perfect price for lunch.

Along side the drink, I have two appetizers. One is a coconut milk soup, the other is chicken and shrimp dumplings. I could have chosen two other things with my lunch special, but these were my favorite ones. I really love the soup... any time of year, it just taste really good.. the dumplings were eh okay I guess....

My main dish was the Chicken Panang Curry. This was heavenly with brown rice. Not too spicy, as I love when it is.... and just the right amount of chicken and veggies to go along with it.

This has to be my most favorite lunch ever!!! I highly recommend going here!

Cooking Healthy dinner is the best thing in the world.

Instead of going out to PF Changs or some sort of Asian restaurant, I decided to make the dish I was craving

Here is a head of lettuce... doesn't get any simpler than that....

Here is the star of the dish.. Although This should be more of a recipe post, I forgot how much of what I put into this dish... But it was F'ing amazing... here's what I remembered:
Chicken Breast
Apple cider Vingegar
Lime Juice
Red Bell Pepper
Green Bell Pepper
Onion
Garlic
Soy Sauce
Scallion Oil
Siracha
Pink salt
black pepper
Adobe
Pimento Pepper

I loved this dish... And there was more where this came from... Until next time!!

I am as disappointed as disappointed can be. Why is this establishment still up is beyond me.

I passed this place a couple times on my way to and from restaurant on 9th ave. Never have I been disappointed with a restaurant in my life like this one.

On the way in... it took 10 minuets for someone to sit my co-worker and I down. He was eating lunch in the back, and ignoring other customers as well. (Really???)

We got our menus and both agreed that the corn sounded good. When it arrived it was war, as if it were sitting at the ledge for some time. It lacked flavor!!! I mean come on. Really corn with mayo and cheese has no flavor!!. Wheres my cayenne pepper? wheres the onion or something on this thing? Ugh what saved them was the small wedge of lime on the plate. Even still WTF.

For our Entree we had more hope... but that fell short when I got my dish. She ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with fries. It had a spicy mayo that was anything but spicy. The avocado was nice but WTF no flavor again!!! She had to ask for salt and pepper for everything.....

I ordered the chicken enchiladas. Thinking a staple dish in't hard to mess up. Boy... I should have left after waiting 6 minutes to be seated. This dish was piss poor. The empty tables should have been an indicator that maybe this wasn't a great idea but I like to give places chances.... NEVER AGAIN

The whole dish needed something.... I didn't eat most of my food. I can't really describe how it was because I couldn't eat it...

I wouldn't go back here unless there is new management and a new chef. Please read reviews before venturing off to a few places. I've learned my lesson... but that's what this blog is here for!!

Talk about a nice first day of Summer... and to end it off with seafood from a local restaurant...

Lets begin with the table bread.. So warm and doughy ... My favorite combo in one bite!!! Ugh it was so good...

To go along with this Bread was a thin slice of butter, some olive oil I believe it was EVOO roasted garlic and a sprig of thyme. Need I say any more... spread this concoction on that warm bread and yes you have a happy camper!!!

Little Neck Baked Clams
whole and chopped clams, herb panko
bread crumb

These little things here were so delicious. There were 6 but I was a bit too hungry to wait for the picture to be taken. Let me tell you! Sometimes baked clams have too much panko or breading on top.. but this one was super flavorful and not overwhelmingly "bready"...

Crispy Calamari
tossed with cherry pepper oil

The marinara for these calamari was super fresh and  the batter on the calamari was light and didn't take away from the entire dish... I'm not sure if I'd run to these though again.

Buffalo Chicken Gnocchi
pulled spicy chicken, gorgonzola cream
sauce, house made gnocchi

This dish was both a shocker and a treat at the same time. To label this as an appetizer is an understatement. I would Add more of the Gnocchi and Buffalo chicken and make it an entree. The Buffalo chicken was super flavorful, not spicy at all (might be because I'm used to much spicier food) the Gnocchi was soft, airy, creamy, herbaceous, and just too darn good .... My BF and I fought for the last bite... I let him win :)

Here's another picture of this delicious dish!

Here is a shared seafood dish. I was super excited that we were able to share this dish because the beginning of this meal was packed with mouth watering flavors that I could not believe was hiding from me before!!!

Seafood Capellini
shrimp, clams, calamari, white wine
tomato broth

Just as the description explains... this dish doesn't fall short in flavor!!!

I like this place for it's different take on modern cuisine. When I first came to this place and had their specialty pizza I was hooked... Wish some of the specialties made the menu for good... Oh well..

Hope you guys enjoyed this review! Till next time!

Three-Course Dinner for Two with Four Cocktails or Glasses of
Wine for only $45

Let me start of by saying that this has to be by far my most favorite coupon deal of all times!

Riesling Wine

My guy had this drink twice. It was super nice and refreshing. I wish I got the name of the bottle because it was a sweet Riesling and not a dry one. Would have gotten a bottle on our way home.

Acai something...

I had two of these... I forgot what was in it but I do know there was Brazilian rum in it. It was nice and strong, it had a hint of summer to it but warm enough to drink in the Fall. I really wish I took more notice to the drink menu!!!

Spicy Fried Calamari – 12
Fresh lemon and Sriracha-basil aioli

We had a choice of only one appetizer... but in all actuality... I love food and so does my man... so we said what the heck. The calamari was fresh and the aoli was even better. My only issue with this dish was that there was enough on the plate if we ordered that alone.

Steamed Mussels – 13
In a garlic and wine broth, with toasted ciabatta

These Muscles was the second appetizer  we decided to get... and thank God we did! the broth was beyond delicious and fresh. The muscles weren't over cooked, and the tomatoes had a nice bite to them.

Toasted ciabatta

The bread that accompanied the muscles was super awesome!!! however... Why only send 3 pieces when there is the two of us? Yes we did fight over the last piece....

Chicken Piccatta – 17
Pan-seared chicken, lemon-caper butter sauce, jasmine rice

Now for the entrees!

I must say... I'm not a fan pf capers, but what they did to this dish made me re-think about those little green things!! the rice was cooked perfectly and had the right amount of vegetables added to it. The chicken was pounded thin and the sauce it sat in made it more than delicious.... mouth watering thinking about this dish again.....

Chicken & Shrimp Scampi – 17
Sautéed with garlic, butter and herbs

This dish right here... although it looks simple... it did not lack in the flavor department.
What i loved the most was the sauce and the perfect texture of the pasta. The chicken and the shrimp were only added bonuses. The pasta alone would have been great!!!

This is an awesome dish for the summer and fall... not to heavy, not to light, just the right amount of food on the plate to make you say ooooooooh

Chocolate Mousse Cake

Now usually I'm not a fan of  chocolate, but this year I might have had more than have my weight in chocolate deserts and that's not counting other decadent deserts with out chocolate!! It was light, and fluffy. My boyfriend hates chocolate, but he too could not get over the fact at how irresistible this dish was. kudos to the bakery they get this cake from... again... I wish I paid more attention to the small things!

I highly recommend scoring this coupon from amazon local if you have not done so already. This is a great way for businesses to score new customers and foodies alike to score big savings!!! Till next time!

Oh what an amazing Dinner this was!!!

Please excuse the pictures in this post... I was more hungry than I was interested in getting pictures...

These bread things here were amazing... I had no idea what they were called... but I kept stuffing my face with them!

cheesebread

I loved how the men came with the meat and served you a sliver of what ever it was you wanted. A great way to try things and not have to be obligated to eat everything!

This was steak... Don't recall which kind but it was really good!

There was sausage and Wings Galore!!!

The sides they had kept coming at the table... I was really excited about the fried polenta and the sweet plantains... didn't care much about the mash potatoes.

Birthday dinners are awesome, especially when you get to try new places at that. This was a food adventure for 5 women on a special night.

Here, something I dare not try was a pallet cleanser... I'll say It did not really cleanse anything.

‘Chicken n’ Waffles’ - $19
brick pressed chicken, aged cheddar waffle,
corn pudding, balsamic spiked maple syrup

This dish was okay. My issue was that it did not come in 5 pieces as the following items did, so we had to share a piece. The waffle was a bit soggy as well, but the flavor profiles were awesome.

Rhode Island Lobster Roll $10

These Lobster rolls were good, but for a "Tapas" style restaurant, you'd think they'd explain that these were $10 a pop instead of insinuating that a roll would be cut up into pieces for the table. It was good...but bad communication was a problem.

Baked Spanakopita -
phyllo, spinach, feta, lemon aioli $8

This was good, but I wasn't too crazy about it. I think if the wrap was friend a little longer it would have been better, considering that everything inside was soggy, the outer layer should have been crisp.

Red Snapper Tacos -
creamy avocado, spicy mango $10
These tacos were everything. I was really happy we ordered these tacos. It was full of flavor and I wanted more than just one! This is a must order item.

Maryland Jumbo Lump
Crab cake ‘Corn Dogs’ $14

These crab cake corn dogs were to die for. I remember trying to savor the moment of each bite. They did a really good job getting that crab on there. Wish we ordered two of these!!

Cranberry Flower
Hendrick’s Gin, cranberry compote,
fresh lemon, lemon syrup

I took a sip of this drink and thought it was good, my friend thought it was strong. I love Gin, and it's an acquired spirit that grows on some people and sometimes it doesn't... I'd order it if I could afford it (hahaha)

Brooklyn Lemonade
Brooklyn Gin, lemon syrup, fresh lemon, muddled cucumber, ginger beer

This drink made us all think of summer time, outside just soaking in the sun. Yea, summer where are you? I would get this drink. Luckily, one girl didn't want hers so I was fortunate enough to get half of it. Nice and refreshing.

Strawberry Fields
Grey Goose Citron, muddled fresh strawberries, lemon syrup, fresh lemon
& a Riesling floater

The birthday girls drink was tasty. I'm not into sweet drinks, so this wouldn't be on my radar, but from the look on her face, she enjoyed it.

Blood Orange-Jalapeño Margarita
jalapeño-infused Milagro Reposado, blood orange juice, fresh lime, Cointreau

This was my drink. AND I LOVED IT. YES I DID. The spicy and the tart, and the alcohol all made me warm and tingly inside. Or maybe it was just really hot in the restaurant.... Anyway, the waiter mentioned that it was his favorite drink and I agree!!! It is a Must try drink.

Old School Meatballs - $14
basil & ricotta ‘manicotti’

These meatballs were really tasty. They instantly made me want a side of Penne al dente and some wine. It was really that good.

Social Mac & Cheese -
chorizo, roasted poblanos $12

This was sans chorizo,  It was not the best Mac and cheese I've ever had......

All in all... this place was cool and sexy. Would I come again... Not sure, But I think it's a great place for a group of people to try new food ideas gourmet style... Till next time!!

Happy hours are usually a girls best friend. Stumbling upon a hole in the wall that has an awesome happy hour is a double win!!

After shopping, girls just have to eat, especially after a long week of BS at work. Here's our awesome experience at Market.

The pictures are not in any order so here we go! Below we have what we waited for maybe 40 Minutes (not exaggerating) for after our appetizers. The crab cake was good. It wasn't as lumpy as described in the menu, however, the aoli that accompanied it was everything to the dish!! It kind of made up for my missing lumps. I think I'd wait for that one again.

Pomme Frites (french fries) were pretty good. They were. A part of their happy hour menu. The seasoning was spot on. I mean who doesn't like fries?

The chicken bites were good. It was a cross between a healthy grilled chicken that was fried. Not aide I made that sound right but it was good. Guess what it was paired with!!! That awesome aoli sauce the crab cake had!!!  It made a world of a difference! Oh yea

Here's another look at the chicken!

Apple cider mojito, why didn't I order you!! Is what I was screaming as I wrote this post. The two other girls got that and I tries it and fell off my chair. That was a tasteful master piece. Not too sweet not too tart. A great drink!

What I did get was this gimlet of some sort. Basically the strongest drink on their happy hour menu. Yea I was sipping on that cocktail for a while. Can't remember everything in there but I do remember some type of Berry floating on the bottom. Kind of like a mint julep but fruity.

This place was really cute. A must place to try!!
