I love finding new places to eat in the city. Well Harlem any way. So we stumbled upon this place not knowing that the food would actually be really really good.

the calamari was a no brainer to order, but a good one at that. The sauce was a tamrine sauce and was very interesting. I preferred it with out and just a spritz of lemon juice but to each is own. It was fresh and had a nice season batter to it...

The side trio was a very good idea.

The spinach was my favorite. The fries were good but had a bit of too much salt on there, and the sweet plantains were okay at best. All in all the sides were cool.

The crab cakes were really nice. They had a little lump in them where you were able to distinguish between the filler and the meat... Yes I analyze that stuff and how! The chef did not disappoint here at all! Great apps.

We almost didn't order anything else until I said I was still hungry... there was three people at the table and the first few things were not filling enough!!!

So we got the Lobster mac and Cheese. Talk about presentation for days!!! By far the best presented mac and cheese I've seen thus far. Now to flavors..... The half lobster was steamed in salt water... I could taste that alone. The mac how ever, the lobster in there acquired a different spell in the bechmel sauce.
It was nice and cheesy and had the right amount of salt in this dish. I'd recommend this dish a thousand times. I love love love the presentation.

Now I know I don't eat meat... But couldn't have a picture of half wings in the photo above and not speak on it!!!

So my brother had the wings and he was blown away. If you've ever had Bon Chon wings you'd understand the soy garlic concept, however, they took it up a notch and had some type of BBQ glaze with a nice kick to it. He really enjoyed it as it was his replacement for the quesadillas i'm about to speak on.

He was not to fond of this dish. i can not speak on it, but was really happy that the chef himself came out and offered the wings that blew him away. his complaint was that the flavors were off... not sure what he meant but hey maybe I'll get a cheese one when I go back and yes I do plan on returning.

I would recommend this place... the only thing is the crowd that you'll see when there... the hostess are good and the atmosphere is interesting...all in all a good place to visit...

till next time!!

Happy Hour with the Booski!!!

I've seen this [lace in passing but never knew how it would be like...

Happy hour consist of two for one Well drinks.. and it is imperative that they give you both at the same time... The drinks were pretty weak but what ever... it was cheap

My babe went with wine... Smart choice because the alcohol in there can't be tampered with!!! He liked it even though it was house wine... Does it matter?

All the appetizers that will follow will only cost $5 a pop..

BCH Famous Thai Calamari Bowl*
Sweet Peppers, Peanuts, Cilantro, Lime, Sweet Chili Glaze
Here is the Calamari. We really enjoyed this dish. I mean it was flavorful, and different for an American bar. It had a lot of Asian inspired flavors which you could never really go wrong with.

The wings.... the wings I would not really order again, just because the thought of spicy doesn't stick well with most people. They were not hot at all and for those who swear a little spice is much... they need to have at least try half of the dishes my mom makes!!!

Spinach & Artichoke Dip
Crispy Tortilla Chip
Spanish Artichoke dip...ummmmm yum yum yum. For only $5 this was all mines!!! Yes I ate every last chip and every square  inch of that dip was gone!! It had four cheeses which is not normal to most dips but it was delicious. I would go back for this again!!!

Fresh Mozzarella
Eggplant Caponata, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Aged Balsamic

This thing here.. Eh I could care less for. This was all for my boo. He enjoyed it I ... not so much. It was a mozzarella tomato bread concoction... It was blah to me at best...

Margarita Pizzette
Tomatoes, Mozzarella, Basil, Balsamic
The margarita pizza was amazing!! It had a drizzle of balsamic vinegar (very different) and small specs of basil. Each bite was really really good. All this carb over load... Surprise I'm not fat HAHAHAHA

Happy Hour ends at 7, which in most cases suck because of my commute from the city to these Long island spots. However, for the short time there we had a nice time. Live music, and great people at the bar. There are other spots in the area, and if I had to compare this to the other ones I've been to.. i'd say the extra half hour gives this place an edge...

P.S. We had a Irish car Bomb to help with lack of alcohol in the drinks... and the bartender hooked us up with a pretty decent shot!!

Till next time!!!

Atomic Wings!!!

Yes another wing joint besides Bon Chon!!!

I would def come back here for lunch again!!! And here is why...

My co-worker was a bit skeptical about the sauces because she is an extremely picky eater but I had to convince her that this place was worth a try.

Here she had the Garlic Parmesean wings... I had one and Yes they were good. I turned my head once and then back again and she was finished. She didn't like the fries... neither do I unless they had cheese on it for the lunch special...

The wings remind me of an Italian wing on crack... I'd get these wings next time I go

Here's what I ordered. Of course I'm not into the waffle fries because they don't come with cheese so I opted for the Sweet Potato... can't go wrong with that!!
I also went for the Thai chili wings.. Oh how good they were...

What also went well with my lunch was the photo of the beer in this picture... two beers for 6 bucks all day!! Yes I was pleased...

I'm a Carb junkie so I also ordered the Mac and cheese and it was delicious... It was lacking in a little salt.. but hey, there was salt, pepper and ketchup on the table and I went to town on this dish!!!

I would def recommend this place, for the food, the laid back ambiance and the service... Yes you must try this place... like all of the other review boards have said to do!!

When I was first told about the post office I thought to my self a place where you get or send mail right? Well no that wasn't the case. This place was a dynamite resort for fine dining and game watching! Lets talk about the food!!

They had an assortment of sauces I could have chosen for the wings, but because I was feeling in the Asian mood I went with the sweet chilly sauce! It was extremely delicious. Tangy, a little kick and then sweet. I was a perfect balance on the really well fried wings! I would definitely try the other sauces when I go back!

Some people say you can't mess up Calamari, those people are wrong. I've had bad Calamari in my day and I tell you this one was not bad, it was great!!!  The batter really makes or breaks a good Calamari and then the sweet chilly sauce being reinforced into this dish made me a very happy camper!

So I forgot to mention that I was sitting at the bar, and it was happy hour. The bartender highly recommended the southwest chicken egg rolls. I was on the fence, but I love anything fried in an egg roll! Who doesn't?  Took a bite and I called her over to thank her! It had chicken, black beans really good cheese and the aoli sauce on the side really made the dish whole. This is a must try if you go there!

Its bad enough I showed you more than one dish before this one. But do you really believe that my greedy ass would settle for just one dish at a bar? Hell no!!!  It was artichoke and spinach dip time!  Oh and there was beer in it too!!  Gluttony, no, pure indulgence,  YES!!!  The pita chips were nice and soft, and the nacho child were warm and salted. That with the combination of the dip. You have a happy marriage of flavors!

I love sweet potato fries, who doesn't? These assured me why!! Cinnamon dusted sweet fries with a cinnamon aoli on the side is just a recipe for greatness. Of course I didn't eat all this food alone. I was with my BF and we sure did enjoy our selves!

Now for the beer!!  I couldn't get a picture of all three beer flavors we had but let me just let you guys know. They do make their own beer and they do distribute other local brewery beers as well!!  We had their own pumpkin beer, which without the cinnamon crust really had a pumpkin taste. Not all pumpkin beers have that authentic beer taste. They did and I understand why it was a hot commodity. We tried their stout as well. It was really full bodied and gave you a bit of homey warmness going down. Then we had a dark IPA which was super super delicious. Hard to describe the flavors but it was out of this world.

This happy hour extravaganza was only $50 bucks. Mind you we had three beers each. Now tell me that's not a great bang for your buck!!! I highly recommend going here any night of the week! They have great food, great people, and great specials.

Till next time my friends!!!

Trying new lunch items for me could either be a treat or a disaster.  I thought this place was good.....not great.

I was really hungry and stressed out at work and was really happy my cousin asked to go out to lunch with me. I kind of ate with my eyes instead of my stomach though.

Ordered the wings and they were good.... but I thought I'd be sharing this truck load of wings instead of overindulging myself. I wish the wings were fried a little longer then drenched into the hot sauce. Oh well...

My fish and chips were pretty good. Nice big piece of cod in a nice flaky batter. The fries were seasoned well. Nothing to cry home to mama about!

This dish made me jealous!!!!  It was the special for the day. Lobster sandwich with fries. Why did I pass on this!!! Why please tell me!!!  It had avocados, tomatoes, chunky pieces of lobster and a sauce to marry the flavors together. The small sample I got was a tease. Not cool!!!

I'd like to try this place again and see what it has to offer. Till then........well see!!!

Home of the famous cheap wings!

I wanted to try something new on their menu. Being that it is summer time..nothing wrong with some lobster and sweet potato fries. And look they give you two rolls full of stuff in it!!! And guess what!! it was under $15

I'd Def get this again!

Now for the judgement on the wings. I love that they were full size wings. Not the baby just hatch chicken wings your used to with deals like this. The sauce to meat ratio was the bomb and being that I rarely dine out alone we ordered another round just for kicks.

Now this picture is both good and bad. You can see the light and darkness of my beer cocktail. You can also see my sister photo bombing my shot LOL.

This beer cocktail was really good. I believe I had the black cherry with chocolate stout. It was amazing! so much so i savored every last bit... in the mean time I kept asking for samples of beers I never even heard of.

I would def come back for some wings and other fun treats. I really liked the idea of a beer cocktail and being able to sample new beers!!!

Might come a few weekends for football season!

This has to be my favorite go to place for happy hour. Nested in the heart 34th street you can not go wrong stumbling into here.

I'm sorry about omitting drinks in this  post, they were gone as soon as they hit the table (yeah, that kind of day)

Here we have a delicious order of wings. I must say, in my Chinese chicken wing eating experience, something about these wings are bewitched! I killed this order on my own, and usually so with a sidekick of scallion pancakes below...

These have to be the best scallion pancakes. I have made these at home, and let me tell you, they didn't even come close to how flaky and decadent these are. I've had scallion pancakes all over midtown, but non have the tenacity as this one upholds (yeah that was deep)

Now, for my guilty pleasure (fried vegetables) their vegetable spring rolls. I love these things, and no matter how full I am, I always indulge in at least one order of these bad boys. They also help with the guilt of knocking back a few cocktails...

They have happy hour from 4-8 and their drinks (all type, not limited to well) are just $4.50. tell me a happy hour cheaper then that!!!!

Definitely stop by and enjoy!

The best Thai happy hour I've ever been to.

First drink of the night!  It was like a lemonade margarita... for just $5 bucks I was like hay give it to me as I walk in please!!!

So We decided to do the prefix dinner during our happy hour. Greedy on another level!!! for 16.95 you get a soup, salad, entree and desert. My friend opted for the spicy shrimp soup. It had a nice kick to it, but don't worry... you spice lovers this soup will do nothing to you but make you smile because it's really good!

So the chicken that I am... I opted for the coconut chicken soup. This has to be my favorite soup of all time here. It's so light and refreshing and decadent all at the same time! I can't really explain.. all I know is that I need a bigger bowl for the next time I go.

So in between our prefix dinner we have happy hour (I'm cheesing as I write this) This drink is called a coco mo. It's like a mix between a pina colada and a long island ice tea... if that makes any sense. I say Just try it!!!

My friend and I had two each!

With our drinks come free appetizers (this is where the greediness comes into play). Remember we have a prefixed dinner and each drink comes with an appetizer (except for the Margarita in the beginning... that was a special)

Spring rolls are another free appetizer we had... very good.

Green curry chicken is my staple for trying our a Thai restaurant. it helps me know whether or not this place is worth my business. And you've guessed it I was more than happy sinking my teeth into this creamy green broth!

Brown rice to stay healthy!

This was the combo that came with the prefix meal... the other pictures were separate from this deal ( yea I'm greedy I'll admit it now!)

My friend had the Thai basil sauce I liked it. It had a subtle kick to it with out loosing the freshness of the basil. After trying 3 spoons of her dish I wished I got hers (sorry Green Curry)

What better way to finish a happy hour than with " Green tea ice cream"

With all that food and drink we had a good time. What did the bill come out to? It was under $50. Split that between two people with tax and tip... I'd say that's a steal!!!

If your in the area I def recommend trying Yum Yum out!!!

Well... what can I say... Aside from waiting over an hour and a half to be seated and have the worst service ever... the food is pretty damn good.

Below is their jerk wings, macaroni and cheese pie and coconut rice. Holly cow is it good. I just hate waiting for food honestly. But get there early and maybe you won't have such a biased opinion about their service.

Ginger, garlic, cilantro, brown sugar, soy sauce, and a few other things are just a few key elements that went into this dish. I let that concoction marinate for 1 1/2 days and then baked it in the oven for about 3 hours. The whole house was filled with the aromatic marinade. The meat was a bit fall off the bone and tasty. You do not need to pare it with anything but plain old jasmine white rice.

Heaven I tell you, Heaven :)

I Love happy hours and when i find a good one i try to catch it hook-line-and sinker!!!
Below is the appetizer I bought for ridiculously cheap. They were really good wings considering I was at a bar. Then I found out this place was well known for their wings which made the experience even more divine!

Below is one of many orange splash drinks I had. It was a creeper but hey it was happy hour and boy did I leave happy.

My friend and I visit this place quite often to catch the game or just for a quick get together. This is a must try if you want good food, good beer and awesome drink specials.
