Graduating from high school is a milestone everyone gets through. We decided to celebrate my brothers graduation with a little Mexican brunch in Long island.

We tried the table side guacamole and asked that it had a little heat. It was nice and tasty and enough heat to say hello. This was a double, and to have people who don't like guacamole to like it after trying it from here was a win win!

My mom got the grilled chicken salad, and asked that a few items were left out. She wasn't too pleased with the chard taste that was left on the chicken, but she ate it any way.

My dad had the Steak version of the salad and asked that only steak and lettuce be on his plate. He too didn't agree with the chard taste of his steak, but ate the salad alone. I had a taste of it and thought it was fine.

My sister wasn't too pleased with the chicken quesadilla but I thought they were decent...

My dish I was more than happy to get. Chicken enchilada with green sauce! It was perfect chicken, to taco, to sauce ratio. I had the almond green rice on the side to accompany my dish. I was in a little heaven. Being in Long island for so long... it's not easy finding restaurants that have decent food I'm used to.

This chicken finger dish was for my niece. I mean the portion was a bit too much, but i couldn't help steal one whole finger from her. Surprisingly, it was flavorful and not dry. The fries were crispy and not oily... my niece enjoyed what she ate as well.

My brother and my guy both had the chicken mole. They weren't too pleased and stated it was an acquiring taste. I agreed. The chocolate after taste was a bit bitter, but with the rice on the side it worked kind of well. Would I have picked that if I'd gone back... NO

Now for the star of the day! Their mango cheese cake.... Next photo if you will

I think everyone at the table was fighting for a at-least a third or fourth bite. My brother had it and I wish we ordered it along side with him. It's a must try!!!

What we did order to share was the Tres leche. It was really up my ally. Not too sweet but yummy. perfect consistency and share able. the fresh fruit added a little bit of freshness to it as well!

I would try this place once again and give it another review. But until then I'd say go there and see what you think!

Catch NYC

Great food Horrible service...

A few of my friends and family went out to celebrate a friends birthday. We were super excited to try this seafood spot.

Here we have spicy shrimp that was out of this world. We fought for the last piece. I wasn't victorious though lol.

These were the scallops that had some type of pesto on them. OMG were they good. I only had one and now I regret it. Oh well.

These lobster rolls were amazing. So fresh and decadent that we had another order at the last minuet. I
I'm salavating over this picture right now

Here was the lobster pasta. it was really good... so good I snuck a fork or two in before taking the picture... luckily my friends stopped me from devouring it whole!

Truffle fries!!! need I say more?

I'd go here for the food... and not for the service... other then than it's a 50/50 in my book

Go at your hearts content!

Happy that I dropped into this place.

I pass this place everyday when I'm going home from work. One day I just said to heck with it I want some pizza! So they don't make regular slices... it's all personal pizza's and family style dishes. Okay cool. So I ordered  a regular cheese pizza just to test the waters. It was pretty awesome. Kinda wish I didn't share half of my box!

While looking at the menu, I was curious to see they had coal oven wings. Not hot wings (something that's kind of common in a pizza shop) So I asked the waitress how they were and she didn't recommend having them if I was looking for a different feel for wings. I said well okay.. I wont order them. So then she turns around and says I'll get you a free sample and you be the judge. Free sample of the coal oven chicken wings!!! Do I ever say no to free... Heck no!

So I had these wings and I actually liked them. They weren't your every day type of wing and I liked that. Sorry but I'm a foodie, and when I say foodie I like trying new things. This Is a Must Try!

I would def recommend this place. I really want to come here on a Wednesday when their happy hour is said to be amazing!!

Great tasting crab cake I have ever had!!! It had real big lumps of crab, the mango chutney type combo on top was amazing, and the aoli on the bottom was phenomenal.

Salmon with herb Risotto, shaved fennel,  peppercress salad. Oh my gosh!!! This is why I love food. Yes i did salmon twice on this trip but who cares.. I ordered it at a steakhouse because it's not always about the darn steak. I am super happy that I did. Now of course I had a bit or two of steak from the other ladies but that's besides the point. This salmon was knock your socks off good!!!!

I'd go here again for the crab cake in a heartbeat!

Disappointing guacamole! The bowl looks full... but it was full of chips on the bottom and a little bit of guac on top! What a scam!!!! On the side were some onion rings that were pretty decent.

Grilled salmon
I love salmon, and when ever I can sneak in a little bit of seafood in my life a week I will. I had to get it, and I was glad I did. The  asparagus was delicious and the pesto orzo was divine. Oh yea and the salmon was really rich and decadent with the fruit puree on the bottom. It was a pleasant lunch!

Wood grilled chicken
One of the girls had this and I couldn't resit asking for another bite!!!

Money maker flan. The best flan I ever had!
I cried every 5 minuets for another bite of heaven for the rest of the trip. I was actually really close to sneaking out of my hotel room and hauling a cab just for a piece of this (true story bro)

If your in Vegas, please visit this place and ship me a few flans while your at it!

A few gals and I hit the town for my cousin's bday. She wanted Italian, I have no issues with Italian. Especially if it's at Lavo!!!

Huge chicken Parmesan the size of two heads was split amongst two hungry woman. I had a bite or two and I was amazed how good it was. Usually Chicken parm is just chicken parm... The sauce and cheese were so fresh it was worth another bite... and another....

Best Seafood Pasta in the world (until I make one!)

This is the sole reason I agreed to going out (shhh don't tell anyone) The first time I had this dish I dream t about it for a year! Then when it was mentioned again I quickly jumped to the occasion and got dressed three hours before dinner like a panting dog.  The sauce is seasoned so well... pasta really aldente and the seafood was really decadent...and you can SEE THEM!

Meaty Asparagus
I love vegetables... especially asparagus. They had really meaty asparagus and it was seasoned to perfection. Looking at these pictures is making me hungry....

Penne AL a vodka!!!!!

I tried this as well. Although the eater wasn't too fond of having an al-dente dish... I thought the sauce was really good. So did everyone else who tried it.

Chicken Penne Alfredo!

This was not your run in the mil Alfredo sauce. It had some pzazz  to it. The chicken too was seasoned really well with fresh ingredients.

Pan seared Red Snapper!!!

The birthday girl had a pan seared res snapper. From the small bite that I had... I could tell she really enjoyed it. Only issue was that it didn't really come with any sides that she liked.

Happy Birthday Strawberry Short Cake

There were two of these at the table!!!! I think that explains how  good this was!

I def recommend this place for many occasions!!! The food is good and the staff is great as well!!

Has to be Thai sensation in these streets!!!

Default appetizer with salad and chicken dumplings. It was delicious as well as free!

These Calamari were so good. The batter was light and airy. The sauce was sweet, spicy and tangy. I wanted more once the dish was completed but I had my entree coming asos I wasn't greedy.

Shrimp red curry
My friend ordered this. He liked it a lot. I had a bit and thought It was a not too spicy.

Got the green chicken curry with some kick to it. My to go to dish by default is green curry chicken, this one was different from what I was used to. It was spicy ans just what the doctor ordered. It was a healthy serving for lunch. If I wasn't a Pig I'd have some for dinner.

I recommend this place! If it weren't so far I'd go here if Qi were too full. Oh well. Till next time!

Happy hour in Brooklyn!!!!!
The more I explore Brooklyn, the happier I am to find happy hour spots! I saw this place on Guy Fieri triple D and just had to give it a try!!!

Smoked wings are so darn good!!!! Corn on the cob with awesome aoli sauce. The wings were so good I had another order... not before you think I'm a greedy pig... I shared this with my date... I then got greedy and ordered another set of those bad boys!!!

Cheesy mac and cheese and of course some more corn!!!  I wanted another order of corn... but I was slowly getting full after that second order of wings... how dare I eat with my eye... but how dare I not?

Beef ribs are to die for, I couldn't possible finish this alone... So I asked for a little help from my friends and family at the table (who were also comatose)

I highly suggest visiting this spot for some good BBQ food

The best Thai happy hour I've ever been to.

First drink of the night!  It was like a lemonade margarita... for just $5 bucks I was like hay give it to me as I walk in please!!!

So We decided to do the prefix dinner during our happy hour. Greedy on another level!!! for 16.95 you get a soup, salad, entree and desert. My friend opted for the spicy shrimp soup. It had a nice kick to it, but don't worry... you spice lovers this soup will do nothing to you but make you smile because it's really good!

So the chicken that I am... I opted for the coconut chicken soup. This has to be my favorite soup of all time here. It's so light and refreshing and decadent all at the same time! I can't really explain.. all I know is that I need a bigger bowl for the next time I go.

So in between our prefix dinner we have happy hour (I'm cheesing as I write this) This drink is called a coco mo. It's like a mix between a pina colada and a long island ice tea... if that makes any sense. I say Just try it!!!

My friend and I had two each!

With our drinks come free appetizers (this is where the greediness comes into play). Remember we have a prefixed dinner and each drink comes with an appetizer (except for the Margarita in the beginning... that was a special)

Spring rolls are another free appetizer we had... very good.

Green curry chicken is my staple for trying our a Thai restaurant. it helps me know whether or not this place is worth my business. And you've guessed it I was more than happy sinking my teeth into this creamy green broth!

Brown rice to stay healthy!

This was the combo that came with the prefix meal... the other pictures were separate from this deal ( yea I'm greedy I'll admit it now!)

My friend had the Thai basil sauce I liked it. It had a subtle kick to it with out loosing the freshness of the basil. After trying 3 spoons of her dish I wished I got hers (sorry Green Curry)

What better way to finish a happy hour than with " Green tea ice cream"

With all that food and drink we had a good time. What did the bill come out to? It was under $50. Split that between two people with tax and tip... I'd say that's a steal!!!

If your in the area I def recommend trying Yum Yum out!!!
