I love beer. No questions asked, I love food (we all know this) beer and food makes me a very happy camper!!!

So my cousin and I decided to have a quick impromptu happy hour. We went into a few places and the wait times were over 45 minutes and our stomachs didn't want to wait. I said lets go to beer authority.

We went to the dining area and were told wait time was 30-50 minutes and we were annoyed at that point. Luckily they had a downstairs bar. Found a couple that was leaving and etched our way to happiness.

There were a Number of items that I wanted to try, but we had to catch a train soon so we had to hurry. Our eyes locked on the crab cake and we knew we were going in for the gold. The bartender was really pushing how amazing the crab cake was. It took damn near 20 minutes to come out!!!

And boy was it worth it!!  We had no idea it came on a bed of guacamole!!!!  Two of my guilty pleasures on a plate. Oh my god!!

The crab cake had a really nice light and airy flavor. Full of lumpy crab and other goodness along with it. The guacamole was the icing on the cake!! Wish I had time to have another!!!

I would definitely come back for more!! This place hasn't let me down in the past.

Til next time!!!

Hidden Gems are hard to find, but when you do hold onto them for dear life!!!

My cousin saw this new place in midtown and thought it be a great new place to try and boy were we happy.

These Korean BBQ wings were amazing!!! Nice and tangy but not spicy at all!!!  A must try

I love scallion pancakes and this place knows how to make them!!!

We have to come back for lunch!!!  Appetizer, meal, and a drink only $8!!!  That's a steak for midtown!!!

I definitely recommend this place!!!

P.S. they have all day happy hour 2 for 1 drinks that will knock your socks off for sure!!!  Till next time!!

When I was first told about the post office I thought to my self a place where you get or send mail right? Well no that wasn't the case. This place was a dynamite resort for fine dining and game watching! Lets talk about the food!!

They had an assortment of sauces I could have chosen for the wings, but because I was feeling in the Asian mood I went with the sweet chilly sauce! It was extremely delicious. Tangy, a little kick and then sweet. I was a perfect balance on the really well fried wings! I would definitely try the other sauces when I go back!

Some people say you can't mess up Calamari, those people are wrong. I've had bad Calamari in my day and I tell you this one was not bad, it was great!!!  The batter really makes or breaks a good Calamari and then the sweet chilly sauce being reinforced into this dish made me a very happy camper!

So I forgot to mention that I was sitting at the bar, and it was happy hour. The bartender highly recommended the southwest chicken egg rolls. I was on the fence, but I love anything fried in an egg roll! Who doesn't?  Took a bite and I called her over to thank her! It had chicken, black beans really good cheese and the aoli sauce on the side really made the dish whole. This is a must try if you go there!

Its bad enough I showed you more than one dish before this one. But do you really believe that my greedy ass would settle for just one dish at a bar? Hell no!!!  It was artichoke and spinach dip time!  Oh and there was beer in it too!!  Gluttony, no, pure indulgence,  YES!!!  The pita chips were nice and soft, and the nacho child were warm and salted. That with the combination of the dip. You have a happy marriage of flavors!

I love sweet potato fries, who doesn't? These assured me why!! Cinnamon dusted sweet fries with a cinnamon aoli on the side is just a recipe for greatness. Of course I didn't eat all this food alone. I was with my BF and we sure did enjoy our selves!

Now for the beer!!  I couldn't get a picture of all three beer flavors we had but let me just let you guys know. They do make their own beer and they do distribute other local brewery beers as well!!  We had their own pumpkin beer, which without the cinnamon crust really had a pumpkin taste. Not all pumpkin beers have that authentic beer taste. They did and I understand why it was a hot commodity. We tried their stout as well. It was really full bodied and gave you a bit of homey warmness going down. Then we had a dark IPA which was super super delicious. Hard to describe the flavors but it was out of this world.

This happy hour extravaganza was only $50 bucks. Mind you we had three beers each. Now tell me that's not a great bang for your buck!!! I highly recommend going here any night of the week! They have great food, great people, and great specials.

Till next time my friends!!!

I love brunch. I love not going to far for brunch as well!!

After a relaxing day on Saturday I wanted to do brunch on the island but not too far! We hit the jackpot!!!

Steak and eggs with home fries for my bf. I wish I ordered this. But hey he shared half of his steak with me. So I was a happy camper!!  The steak was well seasoned and juicy!  omg I wish I had some right now. You could use a butter knife (like I did) to cut into it and enjoy!! The home fries had Rosemary and peppers and really made you feel like a well thought out dish for Sunday brunch. Not to mention the foot ball games going on.

My fish was the omelet, cooked just how I asked. The home fries made the dish whole. Damn I wish it were Sunday again!!!

Along with your meal cones blueberry corn bread and some bagels and butter. A lot of food!!!!

Can't have brunch with out the booze!!! The bartenders did their job well!! I think me and My bf guzzled down 3 and a half bottles in 2 hours!!!  Best brunch ever!!!

They have other amazing items on their menu. As I've mentioned, it was foot ball Sunday, so a bunch of guys had wings. I just wanted one and guess what!!!  A guy sitting next to us at the bar was eating a stack of wings I asked how were they and he plopped a few on my plate!!!  Oh yea baby food makes me happy!!!! I Will definitely come back here again for sure!

Until next time!!!

Living in Brooklyn, you pass a lot of places that you feel is a place to dine.
With a view of the water and seconds from the highway who wouldn't want to try this place out.

Lobster pasta. This was an okay dish not the best lobster pasta dish I've had. It needed a little bit more of something, but it was edible. I shared it with my bf and he too thought it was missing something.

I rarely eat crab legs and today I had an amazing time doing just that! They were inexpensive crab legs and the clarified butter was delicious!!!

My overall rating for this place is mixed. I was disappointed that the crab cakes were imitation crab. The seafood pasta wasn't the greatest, nor was the lobster pasta. However, I will give them another try!

When ever someone leaves a company for the greener grass one must celebrate big. At beer company that is what we did!!!

Not able to decide between what wing flavor to get we got two sauces to accompany the fried wings we had. And believe you me, the red one was killer. Spicy, tangy omg delicious!!!!

This pasta dish had me at hello. The first bit was so rich in flavor and seasonings that I cried. It was a lot of food but I loved that I got to share it with my bf. This is a must try!

Now this crazy drink here was really good. Notice its on the bottom of my oat as opposed to the beginning! We had three each and these cocktails aren't for the weak!!! This is the central park cider. Nothing innocent about this drink! Packed with flavor and deliciousness!!! I highly recommend!!!

Here's the drink menu for kicks!

My drink was the Gotham gin. I had a few of these beauties. Omg was in heaven. The best beer cocktail I ever had. I cannot find this anywhere! I hate sweet drinks and this complimented every craving in a drink I look for!

I highly recommend this place!!!!

Trying recipes of dishes I love to eat is a blessing.  So my favorite Thai dish is chicken Panang. Boy did I out do myself with this one!!!

I looked on line for several recipes and took bits and pieces from each and made it my own. That's the beauty of cooking!!!  Making things your own!!

I would definitely make this again. Maybe with chicken thigh and breast instead of only breast!

Trying new lunch items for me could either be a treat or a disaster.  I thought this place was good.....not great.

I was really hungry and stressed out at work and was really happy my cousin asked to go out to lunch with me. I kind of ate with my eyes instead of my stomach though.

Ordered the wings and they were good.... but I thought I'd be sharing this truck load of wings instead of overindulging myself. I wish the wings were fried a little longer then drenched into the hot sauce. Oh well...

My fish and chips were pretty good. Nice big piece of cod in a nice flaky batter. The fries were seasoned well. Nothing to cry home to mama about!

This dish made me jealous!!!!  It was the special for the day. Lobster sandwich with fries. Why did I pass on this!!! Why please tell me!!!  It had avocados, tomatoes, chunky pieces of lobster and a sauce to marry the flavors together. The small sample I got was a tease. Not cool!!!

I'd like to try this place again and see what it has to offer. Till then........well see!!!

I love to travel. I went to the Poconos with a few friends a while back and went to this famous place with "crack butter " I forgot the name of the place but my good ole tongue never forgets great flavor!

So my cousin told me a new place opened near her house and we should def give it a try. As soon as I walked back in I was engulfed with so many emotions. I saw the butter in the waiting area window and quickly text ed my friend and said "Huston I now have crack butter I REPEAT I now have crack butter " she knew exactly what I was talking about.

Anyway back to the blogging. They have $3 drinks all day long with $2 kickers. Super delicious!

I wasn't too hungry but I wanted a Burger. I got this colossal amount of food and felt defeated. Great flavor but so much food. Sorry no pictures of the crack butter. Each time it hit the table each time it disappeared!!!! Maybe that's why I was full. Great Burger thought and really good seasoned fries.

I will definitely go back and do another review!!! Until then, happy eating!!!

I know you guys can tell I love to eat. So for my birthday I pretty much did a lot of that!!
I always wanted to try this place and what better timing than for my birthday!

Here we have a very sexy lyche martini. It was sting and not too sweet, just how I like it!!!

Shrimp tempura was da bomb dot com!!! The cream sauce that was drizzled over it was light yet rich in flavor!!! Omg I fell in love with it! I would definitely order this again

I always need to have my vegetable spring rolls and these were no different! Nice and fresh!

My bf got the mango mojito, and wasn't too happy with it :( . First sweet drink he thought was too much for him. I liked it though!

Most bento boxes come with only one meat. Here you get the option to get an extra meat (regular portion) for an extra $2-3. It was a lot of food. Surprising it was really good as well. No flavor lost in this duo bento box supreme! A great choice if your hungry.

Here we have my bf's dish which was the fire wok. I kind of wish I ordered this too. It had lobster, scallops, shrimp, and Calamari.  The sauce was spicy, there was asparagus in there and I was just Jones-ing for a bite of each. Not saying my dish wasn't good. Had I left my comfort zone I might of ordered this.

I highly recommend going here. There's happy hour on the weekends and that's another blog post waiting to happen! Until next time!!!

The strand bistro was amazing!!!

First off, the lunch pre fix meal is $20 bucks. You get a choice of a few appetizers, entrees, and an ice tea.

My cousin got her usual steak frites. I tried it and died a little inside!!!  The steak was cook to the right temperature. The fries were seasoned perfectly. I was slightly jealous I didn't order this dish, but it gave me more reason to come back!!

My entrees was the Salmon on a bed of mash potatoes and asparagus!  Holy vow was this delicious!  The salmon was super delicate and flavorful. The mash with the sauce and the asparagus left me wanting more. I found a new guilty pleasure lunch spot!!

Now the reason I left the appetizer for last was because of the sinful decadence it left you with. Panko crusted mac and cheese. The cheese sauce was out of this world! I kid you not it was like no other mac and cheese dish I ever had! The portion was more than enough for an appetizer! I remember leaving strands and wanting more of the mac and cheese than any thing else!!!  I need this recipe!

All in all this place rocks! I would highly recommend this place.

OMG OMG!!! So when I was told that there was a place that made custom mac and cheese I had to see that all the fuss was about!!!

My BF saw the Nepoletana and had to try it. It had fresh Mozzarella, roasted tomatoes, roasted garlic, and fresh basil. Yum! I had a few bites and fell in love!!! Kind of wish I had ordered it!

My S'mac was the Hearty Meat Eater! Cheddar and American cheeses combined with seasoned Ground Beef. I was really good, but after a while I got tired of it. I'm not a big beef eater so It was a bit overwhelming, however it was right on with the flavor.

I would recommend getting the sampler dish so you can try all of the S'mac dishes and choose which one best pleases your pallet. Other then that I highly recommend this place for those who love cheese and pastas and additions!!!

Happy hour at my favorite place is always a good time!!!

As soon as I walked in I asked for two sake bombs. Sorry for not having a picture but it was gone as fast as I ordered them. At $3 a pop of course they were gone in a blink of an eye. We had at least 4 each of them!!!

Now back to what we can visually see. I can remember the name of this drink. All I can remember was that it was delicious!!!

Tropical wings were okay. Not something I'd order again in a heart beat but it was worth a try in any case.

Steamed vegetable dumplings are my favorite!!!  They are very delicious, so much so that I might have to get me an order after writing this post!!!

The shrimp shumai like any other shumai are delicious. I was really happy that my guy really enjoyed this dish as well.

The main reason why I came here besides the shots! Was the Indian pancakes. Holy cow this is criminal!!!  Roti with a side of curry to dip it in. And to garnish is some sugar and carrots. Yes we had 2 orders of this beautiful thing. Man I want some now!!!!

To end our eating escapade, we got two rolls. One Philadelphia and the other shrimp tempura. Again another success story when it comes to having people trying new things.

I recommend this place wholeheartedly!!  Its great for hanging out or a romantic dinner. What ever your into, you've gotta give this place a try!!!

Short ribs tasted out of this world!!!

Curry puffs were amazing with that sauce!

This was a chicken parm with sweet fries.. It was so much food I actually had left overs for the next day. I wasn't too crazy about it because I expected more from this place. Especially since I'm in love with their sister restaurant (Blue Lagoon).

I haven't had a root beer float in years, I think this was the highlight of my night!

This was a really good milk shake. Even though I had my root beer float, I kept drinking his shake!

Chicken caprese panini with a twist. It had grilled asparagus, grilled bell peppers and a thick layer of Swiss and provolone I believe. I was eating more of that than my dish!
